After you watch the video and read the study notes below, answer these questions here on the Fellowship Project Blog Posting link on this page:
1. Talk about how the Holy Spirit empowers you through God’s Word and how it instructs, causes a correction, and gives you strength and direction on a Godly path.
2. Talk about owning it. If Israel would’ve owned it and submitted it to God, they wouldn't have been in the desert for 40 years. If they believed that God was with them, they would’ve entered the promised land within two weeks.
3. Talk about how the Holy Spirit wants to take you through training but you might have to learn several things including suffering.
4. Talk about how God wants to teach you how to handle these situations so you can help others.
5. Share some testimonies amongst yourselves and pray for each other.
When The Training Seems Intense
"What I'm finding with people is that if they don't learn their lesson, then they find themselves back in the same cycle again and the same thing is presenting itself."
~ Dr. Kevin L. Zadai
After you watch the video and read the study notes on this page, answer these questions here on the Blog mentioned above:
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
—Luke 2:52
DISCUSSION:
I believe that the Holy Spirit wants us to let Him train us. There's an intensity in training that goes beyond what we will ever experience. There's a time for training with the Holy Spirit that seems difficult. It takes a lot of discipline to pray and prepare ourselves for war in the Spirit. It’s intense. I’ve talked about what I’ve gone through in some of my books. I had an angel visitation where the angels explained to me, that my training would be more intense than any other situation I would go through. I remember having to go through certain scenarios in training at my job, and it was not easy. The warfare that came seemed so difficult to handle, but it was just so I could be proven. Sometimes the training is more in-depth than you'll ever experience in comparison to the rest of your life. I got so used to warfare and dealing with devils that it's not like it used to be. It's not less intense, it's just that I got accustomed to having to deal with it. That’s why I keep certain things before me.
You think when people reach a certain level they don't have any problems at all. That’s not true. I’ll be the first to tell you that if it wasn't for me having the Holy Spirit and scripture every day, I would find myself behind the curve in everything. I don't feel like ministers are honest about what they go through. I learned how to be obedient and do the right thing in warfare through what I suffered, and that’s what Jesus did. Hebrews, chapter 5 talks about the father and son relationship and how Christ was not self-appointed. He was sent by the Father.
GOD FAVORS AND FATHERS THE SON
❖Hebrews 5:5-7 TPT:
So also, Christ was not self-appointed and did not glorify himself by becoming a high priest, but God called and glorified him! For the Father said to him. “You are my favored Son. Today I have fathered you.” And in another Scripture, he says about this new priestly order, “You are a Priest like Melchizedek a King-Priest forever!” During Christ’s days on earth he pleaded with God, praying with passion and with tearful agony that God would spare him from death. And because of his perfect devotion, his prayer was answered and he was delivered.
• Jesus pleaded with God yet He was the Son of God.
• He was submissive and He was a servant.
• He didn't consider equality with God as something that could be grasped. (Philippians 2:6).
• He lived His life down here as the Son of Man.
You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, or God was with Him.
—Acts 10:38
SUBMITTING TO GODS DISCIPLINE
Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit. He wasn't doing anything as the Son of God. That's why in the desert when Jesus was tempted, it was a real temptation because satan was saying, "If you are the Son of God... do these things." If you look at each of those things, he was being asked to do a miracle as the Son of God. He couldn't do it as the Son of God because He had to come as a man and be like man and still do it right.
He couldn't have said to the disciples at the end of His ministry before He was crucified, “You're going to do the same things I'm doing, and everybody that believes in me will do the same things I'm doing.” Instead, He said, “Even greater things than these will you do?” (John 14:12). He couldn't say that to them if He was doing it as the Son of God, because nobody else could be the Son of God, only He is. He was doing it anointed by the Spirit.
• You've got to submit to the discipline and it's not going to be easy.
• Jesus learned obedience through what He suffered.
• He prayed with passion and tearful agony that God would spare Him from death.
• He pleaded with God, and He was delivered.
Discuss how Jesus is a demonstration of how we are to live despite what is going on and how we’re told that we will do greater miracles than Jesus ever did because of the Holy Spirit.

❖ Hebrews 5:8 TPT:
But even though he was a wonderful Son, he learned to listen and obey through all his sufferings.
• Most ministers don't talk about what they go through and most Christians don't want to talk about it because it's so painful and hurtful.
• We all go through things, but the reality is that we're going through it.
• We're not going to stay there, camp out, and build a building in that trouble.
• We're being tested because our character is more important to God.
• Jesus obeyed God through all His sufferings and was proven to be perfect.
MOVING INTO FULL MATURITY
❖ Hebrews 5:9-12 TPT:
And after being proven perfect in this way he has now become the source of eternal salvation to all those who listen to him and obey. For God has designated him as the King-Priest who is over the priestly order of Melchizedek. We have much to say about this topic although it is difficult to explain because you have become too dull and sluggish to understand.
For you should already be professors instructing others by now; but instead, you need to be taught from the beginning the basics of God’s prophetic oracles!
You’re like children still needing milk and not yet ready to digest solid food.
This verse is talking about moving into maturity. You have to own it by being honest with yourself and admitting that you’re not there, or as mature as you should be. You have to go from milk to meat.” If you don't do that, you never will.
I have encountered this with so many people. I've watched them put it off. They put accountability off. Jesus didn't do that. He submitted to the Father and He learned obedience from what He suffered. He didn't try to get out of things. He wanted to learn what He was supposed to learn. I'm finding that if people don't learn their lesson, then they end up back in the same situation again. It’s just like the Israelites in the desert, they went for forty years in a cycle that was a two-week journey to the promised land. If you want to excel, you have to own it and move on in your faith.
WITHOUT FAITH WE CANNOT PLEASE GOD
❖ Hebrews 11:5-6 TPT:
Faith translated Enoch from this life and he was taken up into heaven! He never had to experience death; he just disappeared from this world because God promoted him. For before he was translated to the heavenly realm his life had become a pleasure to God. And without faith living within us, it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who passionately seek him.
• The only way to go into the faith realm is to move into maturity and own it.
• God has established a way that He does things.
• He sent Jesus as an example and we are to be the same submissive sons and daughters of God, yielding to the Spirit and learning what we need to learn.
I encourage all of you that even though the training seems intense, it's because God wants you to move into maturity where you should be.
• You should be a professor; teaching, yet you're still like a baby spiritually needing a bottle.
• You want to be motivated by faith.
• You don't want to push off responsibility.
• Enoch pleased God. He was such a pleasure to God that God just took him.
Discuss how being honest with where we are spiritually with God puts us in the right position where God can bring us to maturity. When we own where we are we enter the faith realm.
__________________________________________________ GOD'S WORD EMPOWERS US TO GODLINESS
❖ 2 Timothy 3:16:
Every scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the paths of Godliness.
• Paul's telling Timothy that scripture is written so that it can encourage us. It's from the breath of God.
• It empowers us for correction and gives us strength and also leads us on a deeper path.
• It’s the Word of God that you have to concentrate on and submit to even if you don't like it or it takes away your fun.
If you feel like the Lord is leading you and you're looking at scripture and you’re not lining up with what God is saying, then you have to make a decision. Are you going to mature and grow up and own it, or are you going to find yourself next year in the same cycle again? You have to get to a place just like with your immune system where you build it up to a strong level that when any type of disease comes, you can resist it because your immune system battles it. What would normally affect other people will not touch you because you’ve allowed yourself to be built up. Find out what your body needs and build your immune system so that you can fight off disease.
• Your maturity in Christ and your intense training are key.
• You won’t get where you need to be unless you have intense training.
• It’s just like training for your job. There's no way for you to operate in your profession unless you have training in the area of your profession.
• There’s certain knowledge and understanding you need that gives you access to other places.
• The Holy Spirit empowers you through instruction and it comes from the Word of God.
PRAYER:
Father, I thank You so much for the power of the Holy Spirit right now and all that's involved with each individual, Holy Spirit. You know and You can help each individual whatever it is the profile that you have, the template the training to get them to the place where they need to be so that they can help others. Lord, I just ask that You show that to them and help them, Holy Spirit to be prepared for what You have for them. I thank You, Lord, that they will fulfill Your heart's desire. I ask by the Spirit of God, Holy Spirit, just come with revelation and open their eyes right now and give them understanding and thank You, Lord, that you empower them through what they're suffering right now, Lord to make it easier make it better for them, Lord just help them, Lord to own it right now and to walk with You in the fear of the Lord in the name of Jesus Amen.
